Anodizing of die-cast parts, typically referring to aluminum alloys or other non-ferrous metal die-castings, is an electrochemical surface treatment process designed to enhance the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and aesthetic appeal of the parts. Anodizing is also known as anodization or hard anodizing.

During the anodizing process, the die-cast part is placed in a solution containing a specific electrolyte (such as sulfuric acid) and serves as the anode. When an electric current passes through the solution, a layer of aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) forms on the surface of the part. This oxide layer is very hard and dense, offering effective protection against environmental degradation.

Key characteristics of anodizing include:
